matrixone
Its not much but I at least have a little something done towards this GB. More pics will be posted in the next few days. Matrixone
Justin Davenport
Hey Matrixone, that's a better job on your 190 pit that I did on my 190. And you're working on the same two kits I am! (Well, I finished my 190, now I've been priming up the P-40 - more updates to follow). Justin

matrixone
Thanks Justin and Daryl! Justin, I did not intend to copy the same two kits you chose for the GB it just worked out that way, the Fw 190 has been in my stash for over 20 years now and when I learned about this GB I knew this was the perfect time to build it. The P-40 kit was sent to me as a gift from a member of the What-If forum and I wanted to build it soon and would also be just in time for the GB. Two other kits I might enter later on are the Me 109E and the Bf 109G-10. I will have to search for some decals for the Me 109E but I have a number of decal sheets to choose from for the G-10. Your Fw 190 looks great! Matrixone Edited May 27, 2007 by matrixone
Aggressor Supporter
One of the rare times I've seen Les build a model from start to finish. Watching with interest!
Justin Davenport
Thanks Matrixone. :) Sometimes fate and coincidence work in strange ways, doesn't it? Anyway good luck on your birds! Justin
matrixone
Thanks Richard and thanks again Justin. The P-40 is not progressing as well as I had hoped it would, I will post in-progress pics when there is something to see! Matrixone
matrixone
Here is a pic of where I'm at with my models, the Fw 190 is goiing very well no real problems with it while the P-40 has needed a lot of filling gaps and seams with putty and then sanding them smooth. Maybe next weekend I can start painting. BTW, the fuselage of the Fw 190 D-9 in the background is not part of this GB. Matrixone
matrixone
Some pics of the P-40. The Fw 190 was primed today but I found out I need to work on the seam lines on the wing leading edges so painting it will start next weekend. Matrixone
madmike
That is looking good so far. It does seem a little light. Is that the camera flash causing that? MikeJ
matrixone
Thanks Mike! Thats ModelMaster II enamel olive drab straight out of the bottle with the lighter spots the same olive drab with a few drops of white added. I intend to add some heavy weathering to this model so this patchy appearence you see on it now will be toned down slightly when I add other layers of weathering. madmike
I am liking that P-40, especially the way you have airbrushed out the older pre-capture USAAF markings! Nice work :D MikeJ
matrixone
Thanks Mike! I might have the P-40 done sometime next weekend. Matrixone
