oldfartmodeler
Greetings; As mentioned in the web site "F-16.net" there were experiments with the F-16 utilizing a multi-axis thrust vectoring exhaust nozzle during the late 1990's. As preparation for a 'what if build' using the Hasegawa 1/48th F-2B kit can anyone supply details and, most importantly, pictures or a source of pictures and diagrams/plans of this project. I am particularly interested in the configuration of the actual nozzle and the surrounding fuselage contours modifications surrounding the afterburner nozzle. I could not find any such details on the F-16 web site. Thanks for looking and for any forthcoming advise and information. Oldfartmodeler: Jim
habu2
AVEN was flown on VISTA, it really didn't look all that different externally. At different times VISTA was powered by both the F110-GE-100 and the F100-PW-229, but AVEN was only fitted to/for the GE engine. LOAN (Low Observable Axisymmetric Nozzle) did look different, many of these design features appear on the JSF/F-35 F135 engine.
