Please F-16 AVEN program information needed

Recommended Posts

Greetings;

As mentioned in the web site "F-16.net" there were experiments with the F-16 utilizing a multi-axis thrust vectoring exhaust nozzle during the late 1990's. As preparation for a 'what if build' using the Hasegawa 1/48th F-2B kit can anyone supply details and, most importantly, pictures or a source of pictures and diagrams/plans of this project. I am particularly interested in the configuration of the actual nozzle and the surrounding fuselage contours modifications surrounding the afterburner nozzle. I could not find any such details on the F-16 web site.

Thanks for looking and for any forthcoming advise and information.

AVEN was flown on VISTA, it really didn't look all that different externally. At different times VISTA was powered by both the F110-GE-100 and the F100-PW-229, but AVEN was only fitted to/for the GE engine.

LOAN (Low Observable Axisymmetric Nozzle) did look different, many of these design features appear on the JSF/F-35 F135 engine.
