planeboy
Good day all, I am finishing my Has. A-4M and it is time to arm it. Does anyone know if they ever carried a version of the AIM-9? Just a thought I had. TIA, Matthew
DonSS3
I can't say they never carried them, but I don't ever recall seeing a photo of them armed that way.
LanceB
Yes, Scooters carried the AIM-9L on the outboard pylons. I believe the rails and the needed adapter are included on frame F of the Hasegawa kits? F17 is the adapter between the rail and pylon, F14 is the rail. You will need to source the Winder from elsewhere.
Incaroad
Well they sure did at China Lake. Look here. http://www.chinalakealumni.org/1982.htm Scroll down a bit and Viola a nice shot of a Sidearm on an A-4M Skyhawk BuNo 158169. Or just click on the link here. http://www.chinalakealumni.org/IMAGES/1982...0LHL-226362.jpg Hope that helps and please go through the many years that made China Lake what it was and is today. Cheers, Larry.
revellmania
Hi, here's a photo of one VMA-211 A-4M carrying a captive AIM-9, taken from Superbase7 Kadena, Shogun Warriors of the Pacific (aircraft modex 24). I apologize for the poor quality of the photo, as this was taken using my digital camera (my scanner's out of order!). [/img] Hope this helps! Ben
