gtypecanare
Speaking of cruise books, I got to dive in some boxes to find my dad's cruise book while he served on the USS Nimitz 1980-1981, yup the same cruise VF-41 downed those 2 Su-22's. Once I find it Brian, I'll try to get some color copies of the great pics of VF-84 and VF-41 in that cruise book. Edited June 12, 2007 by gtypecanare
Trigger
This is relatively intresting. Since I'll still be doing some consultant work, I'm going to look more closely at markings to see if they are close to Helvetica. I really didn't notice a difference until I started looking closer at helvetica's italicized letters when I Googled the name. Yeah, it's subtle. Arial (1982?) is basically a knockoff of Helvetica (1957) that Microsoft could install on their OS. Arial also has a lot in common with Univers too.

gtypecanare
Eureka! Found some of my old reference material. Here's what I got. Some select pages from the vintage Koku-Fan magazines I had. Sorry for the hijack Brian.
Trigger
Microsoft rules! And Arial sucks! The only time we ever use it is when we're designing web pages and need to comp out how the HTML text will be set within the page.
