HGE
I have used a number of different glues for attaching PE to plastic but something I have always had troube with is useing any cyno on a cockpit sidewall. It seems that even when I get the dry fit perfect there always seems to be glue that gets out when doing this attachment. So, I use white glue or hypo glue. I have even used transfer tape ( works well in some cases) Does anybody else have any other ways I might try. ?? Thanks
Old Blind Dog
Perhaps try using less CA? I use a Microbrush or a toothpick to apply a VERY TINY amount of glue when attaching small PE bits to cockpit sidewalls. . .have never had a problem with parts not sitcking or with excess glue going where I didn't want it. For some small parts, Future or Polly Scale Clear (Gloss/Flat/Satin) will work very nicely as a bonding agent. Best of this is; the part will stay put, but if you do need to adjust it, you can easily remove it and try again. In terms of placement; what do you use to hold the PE part while transferring it to the model? This might have something to do with the problem you mention. I've found that I can use a toothpick with a bit of good ol' saliva to hold very small PE bits. Another method would be to use a very small glob of Blue Tac or poster putty. (For somewhat larger plastic parts I've also used a wetted Q-Tip and this works very nicely!) Old Blind Dog
