model_madness
I'm thinking of buying, obviously the Revell is cheaper, but how do the two compare wrt fit, quality, detail? Thanks
Dave Williams
The Trumpeter kit has a lot better detail than the old, old Revell kit. The Revell PF kit has been out since the 70's and realls is undetailed and crude by today's standards and their MF is just the old PF kit with some new tool parts to convert it to the later version. The new parts look good, but they are a generation apart from the original parts in detail. Go for the Trumpeter. You get what you pay for.
ChernayaAkula
The only problem of the Trumpeter's MiG-21 MF kit is the nose section, which looks a bit anaemic. Have a look at THIS BUILD. He used the intake cone of the Revell kit and spliced up the rest of the intake to make bigger. He also used the Revell spine.
