Here is my last finished project. Kit is Italeri 1/72. Very nice kit, fine panels and details, but some rather poor fit on some areas, so little putty and sanding is required, but nothing specialy difficult. The kit is OOB, i only added resin seat. (the box seat is great, really no need for replacement, only i broke mine, so i have no alternative).....

Preshaded with tamiya blue and black acryl colors, painted with mix of Model Master and Revell enamel colors. I didn't want to get really dirty plane, so weathering is maybe on "light side" (compared to the real thing) but i like it, look realistic to me.....I did weathering with graphit mixed with detergent and water. Model is sprayed with Pronto (Future), then after decaling & weathering sprayed with MM Mat cotte (enamel), and then i overspray complete model with very diluted MM Medium gray....

Hope u like it! Comments & critiques welcome. Thanx for looking!

P.S.

After taking pictures, i realized that i didn't remove "safety ring" from external tank, so i corrected that. Also, on some pictures, cover of front wheel bay have strange position, too little glue i guess...

And yeah, i know that real plane can't carry all that at once, but i can't help myself. I like it big, ugly, and heavily loaded...

Thanx!

Nick L> actually, i have many problems with weathering (on other models). I always manage to screw this step in model building, by making model unrealistic dirty. Just don't know when its righ time to stop! Of course, on this model i did the same thing! Too strong shading, overkill wash....you name it... But, i discovered little trick. After painting, futuring and totaly screwed wash, i sprayed model again with base colors (added some white for scale effect (another "gray" area for me)), until i get at point where i actualy like how weathering turned on. Still little strong, but much better than before. Then i added decals & stuff, actually i finished model completely. And, then was a time for little magic.... Like i said, i sprayed entire model with high diluted gray (yes, over decals too), but so lightly that i didn't change original base color, just some "dust", to blend colors, decals and wash. After that, another mat coat, and the result is here!

Here's some "in progress" pic, where u can see how much wash was before this "overspray me gently trick".....
