2007 East Coast Rhino Demo Team

Recommended Posts

During my visit to the 2007 Cape Girardeau Regional Air Festival I was very fortunate to meet and photograph the East Coast Super Hornet (aka the Rhino) Demonstration Team from Strike Fighter Squadron 106 based out of Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia.

This is a portion of the gallery documenting the time I spent with the team and hopefully gives a “behind the scenes†look at the demo team as they prepare, fly and recover from the airshow demonstration they flew at the Cape Girardeau show.

A BIG thanks goes out to the team that came to the Cape Girardeau show:

LT John "TC" Desplinter

LT Matt "SHILOC" Morton

LT Stacy "Stigs" Foley

LT Josh "JTITA" Hammond

The maintenance crew for this show was:

AO2 (AW/SW) Charles Hudson

AT2 (AW) Larry Pitzer

AN Christopher Rodriguez

It was certainly a privilege to be able to spend time with the Rhino team and can’t thank them enough.

Thanks David and Michael. The sunset shots were a bit of a "happy accident", I was playing around with the camera and flash during the Friday evening show. I was attempting to recreate Fuji's nighttime shot of the VFA-32 Rhino on the ramp at NAS Fallon.
