janman
I already started my in-progress thread here as there wasn't any Red Star forum yet! I had the momentum and couldn't wait! http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....id=1141200&
janman
The kit is full of simplifications and the pylons aren't any exceptions - they look pretty lame. I've done some modifications on the basis of the original pylon and here's the unfinished result (in the middle). At the moment I'm pondering on whether to detail the bomb bay. There arenot much good references and on the other hand, this particular version NOT being a free fall bomber, the hatches really don't have to be shown open. janman
Some progress on the Badger: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....28732&st=
janman
The engine nacelles installed. The fit was pretty nice after some sanding.
Laurent
I hope you won't have a seam problem with the fuselage. Modelers often found it's better to glue longitudinal fuselage halves instead of fuselage segments to avoid having a step along the front and rear fuselage halves. In other words: - glue front-left to rear-left fuselage parts - glue front-right to rear-right fuselage parts - glue left and right fuselage halves: if there's a seam, it's just a matter of inserting plastic card between the fuselage halves and puttying ... instead of... - glue front-left to front-right fuselage parts - glue rear-left to rear-right fuselage parts - glue front and rear fuselage sections: risk of a step requiring heavy sanding and puttying That's an issue 1/48 Academy MiGs share apparently... janman
The fit between the cockpit part and the rest of the fuselage seems pretty tight according to dry fitting tests. I had the same kind of situation with the Streem Fencer, but with good preliminary work I could avoid sanding on the seam almost completely - the fit was so tight. My aim is to do the exact same on the Badger's case.
janman
The fuselage assembled - including the cockpit that's now glued on. The wings are the next stage and the fit is surpisingly good. Most of the rescribing is now done, only the landing gear nacelles needing a few panel lines more. janman
It's alive!! I finally managed to paint the belly side with white spray paint. At some point I was very frustrated with this kit, especially after I got Eduard's L-39 from the Santa. Now it seems I will finish this one for the GB!
janman
Masking removed. Now it needs some gray paint for the upper fuselage and wings.
Sebastijan
beautiful... can't wait to see it finished...
janman
The beast painted over once. It'll need another coat of paint. Luckily some Humbrol shades still work like a dream when applied with a paint brush. Nothing beats the good old enamel!
Zmey Smirnoff
Jan, great Badger! Any chance to see that Red 35 in the background up close? It looks super!
janman
The Red 35? My friend, you're surely meaning the Red 55, aren't you? That's my first attempt on Hasegawa Flanker - that would clearly benefit from a resin nose. You'll find more photos from the gallery.
