Anyone have any shots looking down the muzzle of the F/A-18E/F

I take it you're talking about the bare metal panel on the nose?

Doesn't the Super Hornet use the same gun as the Legacy Hornets?

If so, the vents on either side point in towards each other and with a slightly down and aft slope

The center hole is open straight back, depending on the lighting you might be able to see a gun barrel

Wow thanks Ken, I thought I'd never get a resonse! Yes to all you are saying and yes I'd like to see the barrels of the gun to know distance back from the muzzle. I've looked at every book I have and can't for the life of me see the barrels. Still looking

Cheers,

Larry.

The front of the barrels are back a bit from the opening, I think at least even with the aft end of the muzzle area, maybe a little further aft.

To replicate the front of the gun, I would cut a semicircle of sheet styrene and glue 2 pieces of short rod or tube to it and glue that behind the muzzle, that's all you'll see in real life.

Thanks Ken I appreciate the help.

I will be putting at least 3 barrels back there in case you can see more than one through the front. I'm using .025 xtra thin wall Hypo tubing to simulate the barrels, like I've done on on this Tomcat. Don't know yet if you can see it but it's worth putting it in there anyway Just wanted to know how far back they might be. Can't see any from all the pictures I've accumulated and viewed on the net...
