Eli Raphael
an IAF CH-53 'Yas'ur' ? What's involved? Thanks. Eli
PBoilermaker
Yes, Eli, that would be the best starting point. I am not sure about internal details, but externally, it looks like a US D model. Some have weird bracing on the sponson, but others don't. I know that decals were made for these helos, but I forget by whom. Isradecal maybe? http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/air...yasur/Yasur.htm -Mike
Trigger
Some have weird bracing on the sponson, but others don't. Are you referring to these support bars going from the fuselage to the sponson? Edited September 14, 2007 by Trigger
PBoilermaker
Are you referring to these support bars going from the fuselage to the sponson? Yeah, but the Israeli version looks a bit different. I don't know, really, I am not an Israeli helo expert. They also appear to use the large, fat tanks found in the Revell GS kit. Dave Williams
I’m not sure those external braces are on all the Pave Lows. From what I recall, some MH-53Js were converted from early HH-53s that used the external braces, and they kept them after conversion. Other MH-53Js were converted from later -53 models that didn’t have the bracing.
Trigger
That's correct. HH-53Bs had the braces, the HH-53Cs didn't.
53 Marine
Yes, IsraDecal did some great Israeli 53 markings. Superscale also did a sheet that had an Israeli 53 and an HMX-1
