F-4 THUNDERBIRD DECALS 1/48

Recommended Posts

Fujimi did release a T'bird F-4E before. In fact, my LHS has one for sale.

Unfortunately as with other Fujimi kits it's not 48th, its more like 1/50th. So, that being said, they may not translate/play well with other kits. Best bet, find the CAM ones.

Hi DSTONE.

:yahoo:

Can highly recommend the Cam 48-045 set.

It can make as noted on the Hannants site 1 of 8 a/c from the 1972 Season.

There are 4 sheets appx A5 in size giving all the wing/Fuse and u'side markings as decals.

I'm tempted to use theses as templates and spray on the Red and Blue.

I'm here to insert myself in this discussion with a my question ever on the F-4 & Thunderbirds:

I have seen many years ago a B&W drawing with depicted a F-4E of the Thunderbirds in SEA camouflage but carrying white "clouds" with the Tbirds numbers inside: the explanation says that this strange combination was given to the F-4 before they were repainted in the Tbirds classic white scheme.

Are there availables photos of this aircraft in this moment of the his career?

Thanks!

I would love to see pics of that.

Replica in Scale magazine from the 70's did a special issue on the Thunderbirds planes that were used from 1953-1972 and included a couple pictures of the SEA camo'd F-4E's with Thunderbirds Numbers on the intake in a white ball. There was a fin flash in red white and blue on the top of the vertical tailplane. The caption explained that these T'birds were used as substitutes while the others were in maintainance. These booklets were sold in the 1980's at Thunderbird Airshows with the T-38 and F-16s added. You may be able to locate one on ebay.I have one but won't part with it.

ESCI made a set and I think they are Cartograph... I just looked and by golly they are Cartograph. Still look pretty good but I don't have a clue how accurate. One could use them as a template to PAINT the markings on though!

Maybe someone has a set they might wanna part with, for a price or not.

Cheers,

Larry.
