Welcome to the Real Space Group Build!

Recommended Posts

Greetings all, and welcome to the Real Space GB!

As previously posted, the basics for the GB are as follows:

1) The Group Build will run from October 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008.

2) Models for the GB should fall into one of the following categories:

i. Spacecraft/ Missile (without warhead) developed and produced for manned or unmanned exploration. This includes such subjects as the Mercury Redstone, Mercury Atlas, Little Joe, Gemini Titan, Titan, Saturn I & V, R7, Soyuz, et. al. Operational military versions of the spacecraft/missile are not included; however military launch vehicles as they appeared during development or testing are allowed.

ii. Planned spacecraft which were never developed (concept vehicle) or reached prototype and never saw production. This would include subjects such as the Gemini MOL, Mercury Lab, Von Braun concept vehicles, Soviet lunar Lander, N-1, etc;

iii. X craft used in aerospace research, such as the X-1, X-15, etc; and

iv. Aircraft used as support aircraft, trainers or test beds related to the national space programs, such as the NF-104, NASA T-38’s or 747 used as transport for the Shuttle. Ideally, these should have sufficient documentation to provide a link back to the space program in question. Thus, an aircraft flown by a cosmonaut/ astronaut would be acceptable provided that it was flown by the individual as part of their cosmonaut/ astronaut career and not as a member of their armed forces.

If you are unsure if a subject is eligible, please ask.

3) The kit used may be paper, cardstock, plastic, vac formed, or resin. Scratch building is also permitted.

4) Aftermarket accessories are permitted, but their use is not mandatory.

5) Any kit entered in the GB should be no more than 50% completed at the start of the GB.

Looking forward to seeing what subjects get modelled over the next 6 months!

As always, if you're unsure of anything, give Jay or myself a shout!

Grant
