Henk Koppelaar
Henk, do You know why? Hi Marcin, To tell you the truth, i've really no idea. Maybe because the stabilo's are universal. Thats the first thing that comes into my mind. But if you know i would like to hear it from you. Regards Henk

Henk Koppelaar
Things are coming together now . Not much working today but the wings and tail are attached by some help of the moulds wich avoid to put the wings in a V-shape. Everything fits straight. Ciao amigos Henk :)

Henk Koppelaar
Hi all, This week i can work on the HGU helmet for the pilot. I did a several tests with the alclad II but i wasn't satisfied about the results. So i did something wrong. I used the honeyprimer from alclad, the black gloss base from alclad, the tamiya TS 14 and the humbrol enamel. Whatever i do the final result gave me not what i want. Then a got a little bit disappointed and did a search on the ARC. And it happened. The problem was, that the black paint has to dry at least five days. That was not what i did. I still had a piece of plastic which was airbrushed in gloss black a few weeks ago. After reading the topic on the ARC i couldn't wait to try again. And Yeaaaahhhhhhhhhhh finaly, this is what i want. Polished aluminium the way it has to be. So the whole Viper is airbrushed gloss black now and i'm gonna wait for at least a week. regards Henk Edited October 7, 2007 by Henk Koppelaar
Henk Koppelaar
Hi all, After the black basic paint has dried for at least a week i airbushed the alclad. I will not use the decals for this thing. But i'm using the decals as a mould. The original Syhart lay-out was 1,88 x enlarged. I gently cut out the basic and masked the upper fuselage first with 2 milimeter tamiya tape which was cut from a wider tamiya tape. This 2 milimeter can easily follow the rounding mold. After this, i used the mould again to mask the larger parts. I looks pretty good to me. The alclad is a tricky stuff. For so far. geedubelyer
This is great progress Henk. You must persevere with the Alclad as that is a terrific finish you have achieved. The orange looks perfect. I can't wait to see some more updates.

okthree
Wow!! The polished aluminum turned out great. I've used that shade of alclad before, but got no where near the excellent results you did. That's a very high shine. Mark

Henk Koppelaar
Hi there, First of all i would like to thank you guys for all those kind words and compliments. I really appreciate this and it gives me more motivation to go on with this beautiful paint sheme of the J-055. Yesterday (saturday) I starded to gently cut out the copies of the decals. I hold them in place with a piece of Schotch magic tape (the green one). I've masked the whole upper fuselage and it costs me about 8 hours to do this. Pffff and then it tooks less than 20 minutes to airbrush it. After about 15 minutes i peeled off the mask and i'm pretty satisfied about the result. The aft fuselage ,speedbrakes are not finished yet because the edge should be equal to sheme on the the stabilos. If you know what i mean. Regards from the Netherlands Henk
