Jinxter13
Is that the VFA-81 pilot shot down in Desert Storm? IIRC didn't VFA-103 do something similar when a Command NCO passed while on a cruise, if it's what I'm thinking of FTD did a sheet with those markings on it.
B2Blain
Scott Speicher. I think he was shot down by a Mig-25.

They did. The CVW-7 Command Master Chief passed away while they were all on cruise, and 103 did something to one of their birds in memoriam. I think I have pictures of it somewhere... Correct. The recovery tankers are c/l only 99% of the time for blue water ops.

Darren Roberts
I want to go that airshow! I don't think we'll see an airshow like that many times here in the states. The 60th VFA-102 scheme is quite nice. What's also interesting is the canopy cover.

Yeah, 2 Lemoore VFAs now with East Coast CVWs and 2 Oceana VFAs with West Coast CVWs. And now VAW squadrons are following suit, apparently due to the E-2D transitions. Lots of effort going into logistics when these guys go to the boat, I assume... Jeff
