spejic
It is a little 'busy' eh ? I think at its heart it is closer to the WWI ship dazzle scheme than modern digital schemes. Digital schemes are designed to create a dithered effect smoothing colors at a distance, this is an overpowering geometry that visually destroys shape and shadow. tomcatlover
I have to say so far, I am one of the few who actually loves it...maybe cause its not all grey. There was alot of detail that was put into the paint and you get a feel for it when you walk around it.

There's one hard to tell pic of 573/NG on Navy offical site back in July doing a wave off (hook down, off deck turn) on Carl Vinson it appears to have "Yellowjacket" in front of slime light on tails? Except NOW I can't find it!! Had to do with CarQuals with FRS's

jai5w4
The Chippies (VFA-195) will be picking up new rhinos soon. I'm hearing the "Chippy Ho" scheme will be intensely toned down, however. -J
g0_command0
http://www.navy.mil/view_single.asp?id=93269 101026-N-7103C-183 PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 26, 2010) An F/A 18C Hornet assigned to the Dambusters of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 195 launches from the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). This is the final time the Dambusters will fly off the flight deck of George Washington before transitioning to a Super Hornet airframe. George Washington is on its 2010 fall patrol in the western Pacific Ocean. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class David A. VFA-195 was the last squadron of Legacy Hornets after VFA-192 was replaced by VFA-115 with their Super Hornets last winter. Air Wing Five won't be a truly full Super Hornet air wing until VAQ-136 transitions over to the EA-18G.

Air Wing Five won't be a truly full Super Hornet air wing until VAQ-136 transitions over to the EA-18G. Yea only problem with that is VAQ-136 isn't going to stay in Japan. They are going to be coming home and be permanently replaced by VAQ-141, sometime here in the next year. Also until Boeing finds a way to do CSAR/SAR, AEW, and ASW work with a Hornet airframe it won't be a true Superbug air wing.
