Excellent photos, but DANG!!! Thats a bit overdone. Can't even tell what the squadron markings are susposed to be.

Agreed ... Very nice shots, Ralph, thanks for sharing them ...

It is a little 'busy' eh ? :woot.gif:

It is a little 'busy' eh ?

I think at its heart it is closer to the WWI ship dazzle scheme than modern digital schemes. Digital schemes are designed to create a dithered effect smoothing colors at a distance, this is an overpowering geometry that visually destroys shape and shadow.

Thanks for the ref on the BuNo and Modex'

According to Go Navy -138 and -133 just exchanged duties as -132 -134 did earlier ,-138 is now a JEF unit 'NL' (53x ??)and -133 takes it place in CVW-17 500/AA.

There's one hard to tell pic of 573/NG on Navy offical site back in July doing a wave off (hook down, off deck turn) on Carl Vinson it appears to have "Yellowjacket" in front of slime light on tails?

Except NOW I can't find it!!

Had to do with CarQuals with FRS's

VAQ-132 no longer has that colored CAG bird, it's now low vis.

I posted up pictures of VAQ-138's EA-18G CAG bird in another thread.

I'll post them here too (along with a low vis bird)..

Hi guys , I saw from wiki :

vfa-34 f/a-18e

and I think they used F/A-18C ? any information about new F/A-18E/F squadron ? I here VFA-192 will used super hornet last year ?

Yup, they fly the Charlie. The Wikipedia page is wrong. Whomever edited the page may have gotten them mixed up with 136 since they're not listed.

So does that mean the airwing will be a full super hornet air wing?

The GW will have an almost full Super Hornet air wing. VFA-195 was the last squadron of Legacy Hornets after VFA-192 was replaced by VFA-115 with their Super Hornets last winter. Air Wing Five won't be a truly full Super Hornet air wing until VAQ-136 transitions over to the EA-18G.

Yea only problem with that is VAQ-136 isn't going to stay in Japan. They are going to be coming home and be permanently replaced by VAQ-141, sometime here in the next year. Also until Boeing finds a way to do CSAR/SAR, AEW, and ASW work with a Hornet airframe it won't be a true Superbug air wing.

Oh, but they have!
