ch9862
I'm getting back to modeling after having moved. I've done some work on the 104 in early August, but pictures I took at the time were badly out of focus, so I can't post them; little loss, actually . I'll post some soon. ch9862
So far I haven't located fuselage, and the only completed part I have in my hands is instrument panel . It's kit part with kit decal; doesn't look very convincing (esp. up close), but I'll use it anyway. Sorry for blown highlights in the picture .
imatt88
actually, it looks pretty good. Hope to see more soon, Cheers, Ian
ch9862
Found the fuselage :). Had little trouble with the insert behind the cockpit. I did not check the fit until after I've glued the fuselage, and now I have a step to fill . Live and learn .

ch9862
The kit has been fighting me somewhat - esp. canopy and intakes. Hopefully I'll be able to start painting soon.
ch9862
Painting underway. It took me a while to figure out what to paint and in what order - instructions don't mention that.
JayBee
Painting underway. It took me a while to figure out what to paint and in what order - instructions don't mention that. Mount Olympus sheme?
ch9862
Mount Olympus sheme? Yes, it is :D.Decals seem to go on well, although are very tough to move after placing down. I managed to rip off part of one piece, but it looks OK. I later cut the largest piece in half, to prevent similar mishap. BTW: I wanted to thank you guys for all the comments. ch9862
Painted wings / mid-fuselage black. It's beginning to look the part, although there's still a bit of work left to do. BTW: Decals are from Icarus; I used "NATO" F-104G kit.
Timpus
any progress?
ch9862
any progress? Thanks for asking, some. I'm almost done with decals. Have to fix silvering on some of the stencils, and blend decals with paint in some places - contrast is too stark.
ChernayaAkula
Great work! A very nice paint scheme.
mmaker
Looking great! What blue did you used?
Timpus
Aaah! I love that plane! <_<
ch9862
And I'm done . Not without minor last minute drama - it turned out that I did not install main landing gear struts correctly, and the aircraft was leaning to the left. I managed to snap locating pin on one of the struts as I was pulling it out, and I did not enjoy fixing it. But in the end it looks good to my eye.
Timpus
It doesn't look good... It looks GREAT!
