Micro Posted December 15, 2013 Share Posted December 15, 2013 I'm not certain, but I don't think I've ever seen a legacy Hornet with a true "bandit stripe" like those seen on the old VF-2 Tomcats; the stripe that went all the way to the tip of the nose. Thadeus Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Hi, does anyone have pics of VMFA(aw)-224 Tiger Striped Hornet from their deployment to Iraq, or a paint diagram? Preferably from the upside? From what I gather it was the buno 164884. I've found some pics online, but there are some alterations to the location of tiger stripes from one pic to another, as this jet wore stripes for a few years. I know Academy 1/32 scale F/A-18D kit has a paint diagram, but it's not right for the timeframe of my interest, as aparently there were some differences from the 2005 version. Huge thanks in advance!
