I know the first few aren't the greatest, lots of light and by the time I found a setting I was happy with no more planes showed up and I had to leave :( oh well thats life. The_Animal
Two wet crows... <_< Unfortunately Surrey is too far away from YVR for the aircraft to not break through the cloud ceiling (and it's low today). Edited February 28, 2013 by The_Animal
Devilleader501
I just watched the F-35B fly by. I have a video but it is very crappy to say the least. One day soon little JSF I will get a good video of you.
bwinkes
No photos, sorry. Sunday, while working on the yard, I heard heavy rotor noise. CH-47's? Ch-53's? No, a couple of V-22's at low altitude. The rotors were at about 45 degrees. The leading noise level was very high, but following noise a whisper. I'd never seen them over the house before, Santa Clarita is far from a Marine base. A great sight!
Jaypack44
I live under the pattern at McChord AFB in Washington, and today's visitor was this: Wikipedia tells me it's a C-9B or VC-9C, but I haven't the foggiest what it's being used for- it shows up from time to time, does 10 or so touch-and-gos, and disappears. I've grown to kinda resent it, because it sounds so much different from the usual C-17s that I'm usually running outside with my camera hoping for an F-15, or something similarly exciting... Another one from last fall: A couple other recent visitors: McChord is a C-17 base, so these guys are pretty consistently overhead: We also get the occasional P-3 from NAS Whidbey doing touch and gos for an hour or two: Edited March 2, 2013 by Jaypack44
Brian 1
Today was a beautiful day, but I was stuck at the house and atmospheric conditions sucked, which meant the pics did too. But in the spirit of our hobby, here are some scope shots. Swissair A330 Iberia A340-600 Air France 777-300ER
VA-115EFR
Brian, love your pics!!! Must have one helluva zoom lens on your camera. Reminds me of sitting in the back yard with my binoculars picking out planes and their logos!
Brian 1
Brian, love your pics!!! Must have one helluva zoom lens on your camera. Reminds me of sitting in the back yard with my binoculars picking out planes and their logos! :thumbsup:/> Thanks, I'm glad you like them! I use a 1500mm aperature lense mounted on a serious tripod with a really tiny Canon 7D mounted on the back. The Iberia A340 in the previous post was 33K feet up and about 22 miles out when I took those shots.
Hawkeye's Hobbies
Wikipedia tells me it's a C-9B or VC-9C, but I haven't the foggiest what it's being used for- it shows up from time to time, does 10 or so touch-and-gos, and disappears. I've grown to kinda resent it, because it sounds so much different from the usual C-17s that I'm usually running outside with my camera hoping for an F-15, or something similarly exciting... The C-9B Skytrain was used by the USN/USMC to move men and material. It could be converted to use the 463L palletization system or rearward facing airliner seats. Probably belongs to a USN Reserve unit. I've loaded a few, but have only flown on the USAF C-9A/B Nightingales which has a mix of stretchers and again those reward facing passenger seats in the aft half of the fuselage. phantom
Was up in the CN tower yesterday (Toronto) Looked down to the island airport and saw what looked like a United Nations marked Dash 8 sitting. White paint black markings. Went to take a photo and the camera died.
