Jaypack44
I recently got a job at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA, and just in the last three days, I've gotten to see all of this: We had a 777 in the main parking lot for the ceremony for its delivery to American Airlines: Then, yesterday, I saw a C-26 take off and land twice: And today, I arrived at work to see a CH-124A sitting on the ramp. I was extremely glad I arrived 20 minutes early- I actually got to meet the crew, and they gave me a tour of the interior! (no photos, though). The tour had to be cut short because I had to get to work, but it was still pretty darn cool! And lastly, I got to see a brand new 737, which if the rudder is any indication, is destined to also become an American plane!

HOLMES
Very NOICE... Last night saw a Chinook and was accompanied by the local Police Force helicopter which is a MD 902 EXPLORER. And due to a major ROAD accident between a HEAVY GOOD VEHICLE LORRY and a mini bus SAW MANY yellow colored helicopter ambulances Etc from other nearby counties that cane to assist .. It was carnage but the Helicopter Pilots did a magnificent job given the severity of the accident and weather conditions.

BAM'n'IVM
Not today, but yesterday - heard HEAVY rotors, looked up, and saw an Mi-24 Hind fly over in formation with a WWII era fighter or trainer I didn't recognize. Looked like a stretched P-47 with a squared-off rudder. But the Hind had most of my attention - not a common sight in North Texas.
Ryan Hothersall
I wonder if the Hind was one owned by the Cold War Air Museum? I think they are based in Texas. From what I have read about them, they have airworthy examples of the Mi-24 Hind, L-39 Albatros and working on getting a MiG-21UM Mongol and a MiG-23UB Flogger airworthy. tdogg
I'll try and limit myself a bit today.....try being the key word there lol went out early today for the morning rush, was hoping for more sun(of course there's pleanty of it now!!!) but I'm starting to get used to shooting in the shade, it was worth it though as I caught 2 birds I'd been hoping to see for some time, canadian north 737 and fedex 757 and got 'em both!! 2 kids horizon painted A319's ACX had 3 of these come in this morning, love the vapour NAVCAN CRJ-200 KC-130 #
tdogg
Love the 757 one of my favorite airliners and though fedex has them here daily I never get to see them fly as I usually show up too late, but not today!!! KC-130 #2 heading to the active practiced my panning on this medevac before the herc took off, not too shabby Rollin' and of course photobucket's compression makes them look worse than they are. Jaypack44
The prop contrails on that C-130 are awesome! What settings did you shoot those at? Today was another exciting day at the Museum of Flight- this guy took off from the museum's end of the field, and the noise alone set off around 10 car alarms! Also, a few days ago these two were at the other end of the field- they took off from that end, so this was the closest shot I could get of them with my crummy little point-and-shoot. Anybody know what unit any of these three are from? Edited May 3, 2013 by Jaypack44
phantom
105 is from VFA-122 the school for the super Hornet. But from a distance the colour bird "might" be VFA-25 fists.
tdogg
Thanks Jaypack, The first C-130 was shot with 1/500 shutter speed the second was a panning with 1/100. Tried to do another panning shot with a USN C-130 but didn't work out as good this morning, the sun threw me off as I've become too used to shooting with overcast weather lol. First up more vacationers heading south with Canjet Delta CRJ-700 There was a USAF herc too but didn't get to see him take off and could get a good shot in it's parking space but here's some sailors going for a flight a slight crosswind makes for a dramatic shot A320 in the shade ACX CRJ9 Got some vortices on the main rotor, right on! This CP-140 did 2 touch'n'goes before heading back to Greenwood

Moose135
After a day at the Manassas Airport air show on Saturday, and a little IAD spotting, I headed into Washington, DC. As I was pulling into a parking lot next to the Tidal Basin and near the Washington Monument, I heard rotors overhead and low. Looking out the sunroof, I see three white-top USMC helos directly overhead, en route to the White House... A short time later, one popped out from between the trees, and I managed to get a quick shot.
