Drifterdon
No pics but last week watched a B-24 take-off from Colorado Springs/Peterson AFB. Was in total awe of the moment that by the time I thought to pull out my phone camera, it was already out of range. First time I've ever seen a real B-24 in the air. Ishthe47guy
Took a little vacation from the triple digit heat of Abu Dhabi for a long put-off trip down to Phuket, Thailand. Being the planespotter that I am, I did a search for planespotting areas, and found out that Phuket International is the Asian equivalent to Princess Julianna-St. Maarten. Its not a super-high aircraft movement airport. It averaged between 12-15 minutes between landings for the 90 minutes I was able to spend there, starting about 8AM. TigerAir from Singapore Bangkok Airways ATR-72 from Bangkok This was interesting. This Jetstar Aisa A320 did a missed-approach and took it around again. Air Asia from Kuala Lumpur Bangkok Airways A320. I moved closer to the runway centerline to see what perspective I could get with lenses I had. An upgrade is in the buget. Ishthe47guy
This made the short time I had to photogragh worth the experience. I was still walking to the centerline when this Silk Air 737 passes over head. About 20 seconds later, I actually heard the wing vortices overhead. It sounded just like bed sheets being rubbed against each other, or slowly being torn. Then I look out to the sea to sea if anything was inbound, and I saw these two disturbances on the surface. Given the timing and the spacing, those could only be the vortices disturbing the water. No other aircraft, even the 777, created those disturbances. It was also the only aircraft to have winglets. Moose135
Tonight, the Xtra Airways weekly charter from Montego Bay used N134AS, which was used by U2 on their Innocence + Experience 2015 Tour. The titles have been removed from the fuselage, but the tail logo remains.
Moose135
As part of the International Champions Cup soccer tournament, Chelsea FC is playing Paris Saint-Germain in Charlotte tonight. Chelsea arrived this afternoon in this Swift Air 737, which is also being used by the Rolling Stones on their 2015 North American tour. PSG used this TAG Aviation 757. phantom
Was camping this week. Forgot how close we were to CFB Trenton........Until this flew over the beach. Sadly only had the wife's cheapie camera which of course died before I could get a shot of 4 CC-130Es in progress of being scrapped. So I shot these, badly in need of a new coat of paint birds in the Trenton petting zoo. Two of these Musketeers in various points of reconstruction. CP-121 in desperate need of paint. Last time I saw this Silver star it was in pieces in the back yard...... While I looked at this the "crew" was trying to figure out how to open this Argus up to release the pigeon that was hurting itself in the cockpit
