Hawk10
Since today was the last really warm day we're probably going to have for a while, I took off at noon to do a couple of outdoor jobs than needed to be done at home. A couple of miles before I got off the turnpike at Admire, I happened to look up to the southwest and there was something flying @ about 3000' AGL. Hey, it's an A-10! Not just one either - three more are with him, flying that large box formation they fly at low altitude. All headed East-Northeast. Probably been out to the Smoky Hill Bombing Range west of Salina - don't get to see that much around here anymore. Edited November 20, 2008 by Hawk10
ThePhantomTwo
Watched four F-16's do a missing man formation for one of our unit's officers that was killed on Friday in a car accident.Sad thing is I witnessed the same thing when his identical twin brother was laid to rest after his Phantom crashed in Nevada in 1990.Both(both were WSO's in the F-4 days) left us while in uniform and left us far too early. The_Animal
Stepping outside to go return a mis-marked pillow-case. I saw this baby. Sorry, only had my 18-55mm f/4-5.6 at 50mm. Sorry. Will try to do better and have my 70-300 with me next time. I also saw an Air Canada A319.
MattC
I ought to start taking a camera to work. With Mildenhall, Lakenheath and various other RAF bases sending their boys out towards the North Sea all the time, its a rare day when I don't see something interesting. I was in a field on friday for example, when I was surprised by a Typhoon at (I am guessing) about 150ft on a knife edge turn, lovely plumes of vapour off the wings. Problem is these things happen so quick, so I would barely have time to aim a camera

kenlilly106
Saw an E-2 fly over work yesterday, and last week we were buzzed by 5 F-15E's, the last one was very low. Ken
TomcatFanatic123
Four...yes, FOUR CH-46 Sea Knights inbound to Vandenberg. Extremely low. On a Sunday. Waking up the entire neighborhood :D. Had it been during the week (possibly even a Saturday), it would be rare but not impossible. On a Sunday, however, this is very odd . I was out working on my MiG when I heard them and stepped outside to check it out. Great surprise for me today! EDIT: It must have been a stop for gas...they just buzzed the house again, this time at a much higher altitude. Edited December 7, 2008 by TomcatFanatic123
AnthonyWan
Was going out to the parking lot after school on Friday, saw small red aircraft doing rolls and turns over town. No idea what it was...but it was really small small..
TomcatFanatic123
An E-2 buzzed the house today (at a rather high altitude) while I was sitting in the backyard playing with one of my dogs. Haven't seen a Hawkeye around here in a while...
MattC
Some variant of a UH-60 Blackhawk, with a long refuelling probe? flying very low. F-15E? Out of Lakenheath Sikorsky S61 of Bristow Helicopters doing the daily "rig run" to the north sea fields
B-ONE27
Very interesting and unexpected but saw 2 VH-3s, low, no lights on whatsover, all blacked out in trail over I/S 95 S/B...roughly less than 2 minutes after...heard the loud thump of blades and looked up again to see the silhoutte of five CH-46(forget the designation for the presidential special air mission CH-46s) Phrogs, also totally blacked out, maintaing a loose wedge formation...somebody very, very important over Baltimore..I assumed all of these aircraft belong to the Marine presidential unit....very cool to see and hear...none of these aircraft even had a blinking navigation/formation light on at 8PM in the evening! Jeremy H.
Saw some type of Hornet coming in for a landing when I was at Whidbey on Monday. I only caught a quick glipse but I am assuming it was an EA-18G. This is the first time I have seen one in real life. Pretty exciting! I wish I had been closer and had a camera. Maybe next time. DDC
All At Toowoomba Airport. PAC Cresco 750. Came into our shop for a few rectifications. This one is used as a Parachute drop-ship These two came in and dropped off reporters for something happening in town. I think this is the first Eclipse in the country. Normally based 'down the road' at Archerfield. Denzil
