Intruder/Prowler pics

Recommended Posts

Great pics especially the EA-6As. That Intruder version was pretty rare. Thanks for posting. :bandhead2:

Any pics of A-6Bs ?

Alas, sir I am but a humble rotorhead. My knowledge of Intruders is limited at best. If someone would care to illustrate the differences between the different versions, I'll check the archive pics I have for whatever you'd like. i'm glad these are finding an audience.

This poor, once hard working Intruder is now out in the desert of SoCal (China Lake) doing it's final job as a target, stripped of its outer wings, tires, nose probe, canopy (though the windscreen is still attached but shattered), upper spine panels and other stuff... :bandhead2:

Thanks for sharing it.

Here are a couple of a VMAQ-2 Prowler just back from the sandbox.

Because of "political Correctness" crap VMAQ-2 was forced to remove the playboy bunny logo from their aircraft. But if you take a look at the tail letters you will notice it's still there, I think this is great.

It's time to stir the "Iron Tadpole" thread. Some of these may be repeats so I apologize in advance.

Great stuff, Dave. Love seeing pics of Intruders on the Oceana flight line. The A-6's were my favorite jet to see fly at the Oceana shows when I was a kid. Anyway, keep 'em coming!
