Cobrahistorian
Hey Pat, glad to see you on here! Did I send you the QF-106 photos that I've posted here? If not, I'll get them to you ASAP. Jon
Big Har
Hey Pat, Please help yourself to any of the pictures I have here for your site. I have included a few more taken with the FANG in 2/86. Harry Swett
Patrick McGee
Thanks All, I assumed since they were posted here in a forum it would be to grab, but wanted to make sure with you all. Jon, yes I think you did but if you have more send them my may, as Frankie says.
boats
Boy that was a big plane for one man to fly back then, one of the better jets in its day, sure could have used them in Vietnam when I was there. The new jets of today or great, but I still think the F-106 could stand up well even now. Look at the Bad *** f-4, still in there with some countrys and I love them both, even if I was Navy for 24 years. F-106..HOT STUFF.. "Boats"..
Cobrahistorian
Pat, I'll see what I've got in the Archives. Should have some good images. Jon
jinxx1
The Six looked good even in the Boneyard. Another QF-106.

F106A
Here's a nice Montana Tub. Sorry, but that's from the 101st FIS, Massachusetts ANG. Note the sky blue triangle. That's MASS for sure! Montana never used that triangle marking and their blue was more of a darker blue. Here's a shot of the whole aircraft. 57-2521. http://www.convairf-106deltadart.com/57252102Large.html BTW, interestingly this aircraft crashed after a mid-air with 57-2455. Links here... http://www.convairf-106deltadart.com/572521Page.html And, here's the 186th FIS, Montana ANG "01" which was an "A" model. http://www.f-106deltadart.com/186fis/186fis_06.jpg Mark Edited February 20, 2008 by Mark O. Cobrahistorian
I stand corrected! Most of our photos of Sixes are of the MT ANG. This was at the end of a sequence of MT birds and I assumed (yeah, yeah, I know) that it was MT as well. I'll see what else I can post today. Jon
jinxx1
This is a Montana tub.
Cobrahistorian
THAT is a Montana Tub. I guess I should have looked at the caption for the first one I posted, huh? Here's another Big Sky bird.

Sig Saur & Son
F-106A 59-0076 49th FIS Bicentennial Scheme Photographer Unknown Edited February 21, 2008 by Sig Saur & Son
Big Har
F-106 at the Warner Robins AFM in Georgia. The photos were taken in 6/06 when the aircraft was freshly restored. Harry
ikar
Wouldn't the 49th Bicentennial ship make a great set of decals?
jinxx1
Damn, what I'd give for a set of the Red,White and Blue markings!!!!!!! 84th FIS. Nice markings. Looked good on their T-birds too.
ikar
I'm partial to the 5th markings and also the 95th in their full color. Jinxx1, I have a set of decals for the Air Defense Weapons Center in 1/48th and a set of decals o66 with a couple differences in 1/72nd if you're interested.

F106A
Sundowner posted this back last October on the F-14 page http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....32432&st=80 and I really got a kick out of it. My son is building a 1/48 F-14 right now and found this for me as I haven't been to the F-14 page in some time. Wish we had a color version of this!! Mark
F106A
Wouldn't the 49th Bicentennial ship make a great set of decals? Ya know, I never thought of that. I must have just scrolled right over your post but when I read it tonight it got me thinking the same thing. As far as I know the only bicentennial markings were on 318th and 159th Sixes and both of those are represented in decals. Let's get a 49th set! Mark Edited March 9, 2008 by Mark O. Williams
Cobrahistorian
Considering the only 49th sheet out there is rather inaccurate, a new 49th FIS sheet (with bicentennial markings) is DEFINITELY needed! I'm in! Jon
