OriginalMonty
Perhaps one of the BEST Harrier schemes, is this beauty - painted up for the retirement of the Harrier from RAF and Royal Navy Service. A very sad day at RAF Cottesmore today, but magical all the same: http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Navy/B...7671067ff0d8c29 Ben
FAR148
The final flight of the UK Harriers is scheduled to occur in mid December 15th-17th, depending on a weather. It is intended to be a 16 ship formation. Steven L :) Edited December 14, 2010 by FAR148
OriginalMonty
Current plans are for a practise today, with the actual 16 ship tomorrow. Final flight of a UK Harrier will be on Friday I think, not sure what, or where too though.

Youngtiger1
Nice shot guys. Now, anyone of you guys have good walk around pics of the RAF Harrier that was painted in Snow Camo? I have a kit that I like to build in this scheme but now sure what marking it carried. So, any pics will be nice. TIA Mike
spejic
Nice shot guys. Now, anyone of you guys have good walk around pics of the RAF Harrier that was painted in Snow Camo? I have a kit that I like to build in this scheme but now sure what marking it carried. So, any pics will be nice. TIA They carried normal markings and care was taken so that any important marking was not overpainted with white. In the last Snow Falcon mission (I think it was 2006) the following aircraft were used: 1 Squadron ZD379 27 ZG531 85 ZD435 47 ZG505 76 ZG474 64 4 Squadron ZG510 81 ZG530 84 The white areas were similar but different for each aircraft. You should try to find pictures for the particular aircraft you want to model.
Youngtiger1
Thank you for the information Spejic. Now, I can start my search on which a/c I want to do. I wonder if the white were simpily spraied over main color like what the RAF with their jets in DS or did they strip the jet down completely and then painted the new snow scheme. Again, thanks for the info. Mike

Again, thanks for the info. :) It was a temporary white over the normal paint. After Snow Falcon was over, the aircraft still carried the paint for a while, but it weathered off quickly. There are pictures of some of the aircraft in this condition on Airliners.net.

I've always loved the Harrier series of attack aircraft, but when I say this bird is packin...I mean its' got some very serious Arse punting onboard...scroll down and look at pic #8..my first thought was Harrier max load Edited October 23, 2013 by #1 Greywolf
