F106A
The F-101 Voodoo site is up, and ready for public viewing! The guy who runs the F-106 site also runs this one, and that's why the F-106 link is there. This is very much a work in progress, so bear with it please. http://www.pats-world.com/f-101voodoo/ Mark Edit - The site has a permanent address now - http://www.f-101voodoo.com Edited December 25, 2010 by F106A

F106A
"Hidden" Voodoo on Lackland up in the northwest corner of the base. This is near the NCO Academy - or at least where I went to the NCO Academy back in 2009, although they have several schools in the building. There is also an F-84F out there with this F-101. I took this photo yesterday during a hazy, muggy afternoon. Mark
F106A
New location for 56-0241 on the Medina Annex at Lackland AFB. That's the JF-105 behind her. Check page 4 of this thread for my photo of her back in February 2009. Then, go check the KC-135 page for a current picture of Trout 89! Mark

echolmberg
My dad was based at Hamilton AFB between 1961 and '64. Here's the flightline. (Ben A Brown photo) I think this was taken the same day as the Thunderbirds F-105B accident at Hamilton in 1964, but I'm not sure. I think all of the F-101s had been painted by then. (Ben A Brown photo) F-101B landing at Hamilton AFB, 1964. (Ben A Brown photo) Ben Those are some great pics, Ben! Thank you for posting those. My dad was a kid (teen) living at Hamilton AFB during the '60s. His dad (my grampa) was a machinist on base. My dad actually spent a summer or two working on the base doing things like digging ditches to lay electrical lines for the runway lights. My dad still tells me the stories of how he and a friend of his were out working on the ditches shoveling out the dirt. The F-101s would line up at the end of the runway, light their burners and then take off. My dad thought it was the most awesome thing to see but, at the same time, he hated it because the reverberations from the noise would knock all the dirt back in their ditches and they'd have to dig it all out again. A few months ago I was able to get my hands on the venerable Monogram 1/48 scale F-101B and a set of decals depicting a Hamilton bird. I've already built him a Hamilton F-89 and now I'm going to give him the -101 once I'm done with it. Eric
