Rocat
Hi Skull Leader. warpage is quite serious, I got it on tail and wings, too. Fit is not good at all, I guess I got a not so lucky specimen... anyway, slow process is going on: thanks for looking!
Skull Leader
looks like you managed to hammer the problem out... at least it looks straight from here! :D

Rocat
hi. I'm after this finished look ( from ARC galleries): www.scalemodelworld.net/2tbac5 so I followed the instructions, opening the fuselages. thanks
Wild Weasel78
Hi Rocat Very nive ,the Airfix Seafire is a very good Kit. I bulid the Korean War FR.47 for 2-3 Years. greetings Michael
Rocat
Hi! A small update: Fit was not that good, but the kit does look the part. Biggest problem so far: parts of the canopy frames are missing, just not moulded  I will try to fix them with some putty...but, given my skills, the result will be very poor! Oh well... Happy modelling!
Wild Weasel78
Hi Rocat Use a Vacu-Canopy ,the Kit Canopy is to small for the Fuselage. Test it and you see what i say greetings Michael
Rocat
Michael, thanks for the info.
martin_sam_2000
Hi! A small update: Fit was not that good, but the kit does look the part. Biggest problem so far: parts of the canopy frames are missing, just not moulded :) I will try to fix them with some putty...but, given my skills, the result will be very poor! Oh well... Happy modelling! Thats too bad about the canopy. i would say purchase the vac-form canopy, but still try to fix that one...its a good way to build skills. its like my dad when he paints NO detial on the interior." but whos going to see it when its hanging??" :) then he wonders why he can't detail as well as i can. nice paint job BTW. may i ask what manufacturer and colour of grey you ahae used?? sean
Rocat
Hi Sean. I used Lifecolor Gloss Extra Seagrey. I will try to fix the canopy, trying to build up skills, you are right!
Rocat
I put a few decals on it... Hope to finish it soon! Thanks for viewing.
Rampage55
She sure is coming along nicely. I'm looking forward to see it completed. Mark
Wild Weasel78
Nice paint job ,whats the Parts in the background ? greetings Michael
Rocat
Mark, Michael: thank you. ...the kit in the background is a Do335 by Monogram :-)
Rocat
Almost done A few touchups, a flat or semigloss coat... I took a pic including its "older brother" :) (Tamiya kit). As Michael said, the canopy doesn't fit, I will try to source a vac one. Decals are really bad, as I've often found in airfix kits... I recommend the kit, I think it is a very good addition to the shelf, and we are talking about one of the best looking birds ever seen... That said, I don't think this kit can be build OOB, as I like to do, sadly needing a vac canopy and aftermarket decals, not because of the modeler's choice, but because of the lack of quality of the kit's items (IMHO, of course , and hoping those problems are not found in other boxings). thanks for looking! martin_sam_2000
Great looking seafire. it turned out amazing considering what you started with. Its good to see you managed to fix the canopy, even though you will end up chucking it in the end. sean
Rocat
thanks Sean! the canopy, I'm still working on it...I got a good result using some putty, but sadly it got loose when removing the masking tape...Now I'm giving a try to good old humbrol clear fix... Ruud
Hoi, Cool looking Seafire. Nice job on it. Sure looks like a feisty little Spit with that double prop. later Ruud
Col.
Good luck in sourcing a new canopy to finish her off. She looks damned good as is and makes an interesting comparison to the Tamiya MK.1.
