Richard E
A quick question. Could the FB-111A carry AGM69 SRAM Missiles in its bomb bay: the only pictures/references I've found show them carried on the wing pylons. Thanks
Finn
Yes. An image search on Google will show a pic or two while here: http://www.fb-111a.net/sram.html says 2 can be carried in the bay. Jari
Big Crazy Dave
i've seen many pictures of the FB-111A/SRAM combo, what you rarely see is a close up of the internals of the bay. As it required special adapters to store internally it would be handy to have a pic of an empty bay awaiting stores!
Big Crazy Dave
Been searching and i have only found a couple of pix of an empty bay in the Detail & Scale boook on the F-111 (D&S 04) Even the mighty Google brings naught! - unless you want it loaded and from 50ft away! EDIT: probably the only thing approaching a close up....looks like a tight fit! http://www.commercemarketplace.com/home/Co...r/fb111abay.jpg Edited November 18, 2007 by Big Crazy Dave
ElectroSoldier
An FB-111A could carry two SRAMs in the bay and four on the inner four pylons, Ive never seen the load but it was wired to do it. The more normal load was one in the bay next to the "tokoyo fuel tank" and two or four on the pylons [tanks seemed optional]. I would be more interested to know if and when it carried the B-61, its a possible load and carry it but ive never seen it, nor have I seen what arrangments it would have carried them
