Bob Perry
I have seen this machine illustrated from time to time, always in the standard desert scheme of Dark Earth / Middle Stone / Azure Blue. The old Aircam No.4 (published in 1968) shows a red spinner, presumably a holdover from the desert as well. Roundels and fin flash have the red and blue reversed and that makes sense since the unit is said to be GC II/7, stationed on Corsica in 1943. The two small black and white photographs in the book also seems to reflect the desert scheme and do illustrate that the black cat insignia was carried on the port side only. Hajo L.
Can anyone help my friend by providing this standard desert scheme? HAJO
agboak
The "scheme" is as described, just a list of colours. If you mean the pattern carried on the aircraft, this was completely standardised and any Spitfire pattern of the period will suffice. There are some variations, in mirror image or exchanging the colour areas, but rare at this time. If it had a non-standard scheme then no-one will be able to help. VG 33
Hello The GC II/7, aka Squadron 326 in the RAF, was the first former Vichy French squadron on spitfire and fought in Tunisia, Corsica, Sicilly and France. Patrick

smithery
If the pattern is the standard or reversed, you can use this template to make spray masks. http://photos.imageevent.com/smithery/misc...B%20Mask_48.pdf
