Light & Dark Ghost Greys Tamiya equivalent

I ve been trying to find the equivalents of FS36375 (Light Ghost Greey) and FS36320 (Dark Ghost Grey) in Tamiya acrylics range. Any ideas are welcome.

I recently created this custom mix for FS 36375 that matches Model Master's color very closely.

XF19 4 parts

XF66 1 part

XF2 5 parts

I think that 36320 might require a touch more XF66 or a small addition of black.

I've never understood why Tamiya doesn't come out with an adidtional/broader range of common colors. They really need some modern US colors in addition to more populer Luftwaffe colors.

But, toad you are absolutely right. I am thinking the same, too. Tamiya really needs some modern US Airforce and Navy/Marines colors in the FS range.

I generally avoid Tamiya paints for this very reason. I really don't have any desire to go through a bunch of mixing to come up with very common military colors when I can just go to the Model Master rack and pick them up.

you are right David. I personally dont like mixing because of consistency. I dont think anyone can keep the same color in two coats of paint.

I cannot find Model Master acrylics here. There is only vallejo and tamiya. Unfortunately I cannot find the equivalants of 36375 and 36320 in Valleo, too.

something crazy, they made exact shades for german WWII military and planes in jar paints, but refuse to make it for modern planes and cars.

You must buy their expensive spray cans for that and decant them :D

Why don't you use Gunze Sangyo Aqueous hobby color 307 (fs36320)and 308 (fs36375) instead?

Or Vallejo Model Air 047 (fs36320) and 050 (fs36375).

Ok,

Tamiya has the Light and dark ghost gray spray cans (AS-26/25) but the colour turns out way too 'bluish'. I suggest you take the suggestions, use MM light&dark ghost gray but do not use the spray cans. It was a mistake i made..

Although I prefer Acrylics, I do like MM Enamel in these colors. I think they get the gray-blue shades just right compared to Gunz, which I find too gray.

That's personal opinon of course and not cannon fact.
