Nice idea. :o I read that story quite some time ago and really enjoyed it. But I didn't know about the radio programme and the associated stuff until I joined ARC. As usual, I poached the idea from one of my local modellers, who had the transparent parts left over from the Tamiya Swordfish. Jeff Dick has often been the source of some of my weird ideas, and I'm pretty sure he knows if he suggests it, I'm likely to build it! It certainly worked here.
