brewer
Can't wait to see a flat coat on it
lgl007
Funny you should mention that Brewer... I decided to just give it a matt coat after the decals were on (like I have done with many other projects - bypassing coating the decals with gloss) ... wow was that a mistake. For some reason the 'clear' parts of all the decals took on a 10x more matt finish then the rest of the jet... looked aweful... so now I have put 2 coats of clear gloss coat so that it looks fine again. Fingers crossed in the hope that when I put the dull coat on the decals will look painted on... These were very strange decals that came with the kit. They are nice and thin but behaved oddly during the application process... /shrug... -Greg

lgl007
Hey guys... I finished this project quite a while ago... here's the ARC article I wrote about the build along with finished pics: http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Gal8...czynski/00.shtm It's a bit of a hog of a model so take care with it and take your time, don't get frustrated... I can't tell you how many times I came to chucking the damn thing in the bin... ;-) -Greg

DarthCake
Hmm, I should have read this topic earlier. I'm building the Heller Mirage 2000N 1/48 kit. This is the same kit as this Eduard kit without the PE parts, resign seats and has other decals. Also the sprue is brown and not gray. I have run into the same frustrating gaps problems, but a lot of putty solved it well . I have done the painting part and have chosen for sand camo. Especially in this part it would be nice if I had read this topic before. I sprayed the camo freehand so there is a bit to much overspray, but i can live with that. Its my first sprayed camo model. I will use the masking technique on my next model. I'm now adding gloss coats for the decals. So I'm close to finish the model. Very nicely done btw.
