The_Animal
Hi everyone, haven't been here in a while. I've been busy since April shooting weddings, which is my other gig. You, sir,...are a brave, brave man. My friend, Ethan Meleg, another nature photog states very clearly in one of his articles on Outdoor Photography Canada (OPC to readers) that he would much rather be tied buck naked to a tree in the Muskokas (in the Canadian Shield) during the height of mosquito season than shoot weddings. I agree with him. There is nothing more frightening (not even a rabid grizzly) than a Bridezilla in full "roar" during the most stressful time of her life. Here's a few more of my bird shots - with the 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII+TC-20EIII which I used at Serpentine on August 1st, 2013. Goin' fishin'. Startled Great Blue - bad photographer! scaring the blue herons like that - heron uttered a pathetic-sounding "GRRONK" and jumped into the air. This is a lesser yellowlegs in flight. These suckers are ~insert expletive of your choice~ fast (The F-22 can't match its maneuverability - put guns and missiles on a Lesser Yellowlegs and that F-22 is toast!). The White Crowned Sparrows are fearless. This one sat placidly on a wildflower patch while I plinked away at "continuous high". Canadian honker at full wing-spread. Found my N-ikon D300s coupled with the TC-20EIII+70-200mm f/2.8 VRII works way better at AE-L/AF-L matrix metering and zone-AF. AF is lightning fast at that setting. Moose135
Spent the weekend at the NASCAR races at Pocono. From the Truck series practice and race.. Not the best quality, but according to Google Earth, I was a little over 1/2 mile away from this action, with all sorts of great heat-haze producing stuff between us:
Moose135
Some photos from the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Pocono - Friday practice / qualifying, and Sunday's race: Dale Earnhardt, Jr. signing autographs before Friday qualifying. That will leave a mark! "Dusty" from the movie Planes was flown into the track Saturday afternoon, landing on the Long Pond straight. It was on display on pit road Sunday morning - Dane Cook, the voice of Dusty, was on hand as the Grand Marshall. As pre-race festivities began, the plane taxied off pit road and through Turn 3 - it was supposed to take off during the pre-race ceremonies, and perform the fly over following the National Anthem. Unfortunately, shortly after heading down the track, we saw it being towed back toward the pits, and was pulled off onto an access road. Apparently they had some sort of problem, and it never flew. Jimmie Johnson's car had a special "Planes" paint scheme. Danica Patrick before Friday's qualifying session.

Eastern
Hi guys, well, I'm in with my Autumn Palette. The pics have been taken last weekend on the Chandolaz Ridge, Primorskiy Region, Russian Far-East. It was nice and pretty warm day and we could enjoy it full blast. Early October gives beauty of colors but hardly the lenses can capture what one's eye can see. I hope you will like the images. Cheers and happy photography!
