stevearado
Hello, I am currently away on travel right now. However, I went to a hobby shop in Indianapolis (Plainfield), and picked up a Hobby Boss Bf-109 G-10 along with paint and glue. I packed some tools and brought them with me. I plan to build and paint the main assembly while on travel including the decals. I will save the smaller parts for when I make it back to Maryland. I will not be able to post pictures at this time. I have my digital camera with me, and I will post them when I get back. I chose to build it as one of the all RLM 76 special escort scheme for something different, and (mostly) because it is simple. I will save the more involved camo schemes for when I am home. I will use decals that I gathered for the project along with a few kit decals. Also, I packed some aftermarket seat belts along with replacement DF loop and antenna from a Revell (Pro Modeler) 109 G-10. stevearado
A little update: I got the main assembly together, and I'm almost ready to mask the canopy and start painting. Along with my tools, I also brought a fret of Airwaves German WW2 seatbelts which I added before attaching the canopy. A good thing about the Hobby Boss kit is that it includes spare parts such as spoked main wheels. I plan to add those to the Airfix G-6 that I'm backdating to a G-2. stevearado
I made it back from travel about a couple of weeks ago, and the plane made it in the mail a week ago. Before mailing it out, I got the primer and paint on it. I hope to start work on it again soon after I finnish an HO scale coal hopper that snuck onto my bench. Here's how she looks so far:
GGoheen
Steve...I have to say that is truly tenacious to bring along a few tools and such while on the road so as to keep up with your modeling endeavors. Very impressive indeed. Greg
Aggressor Supporter
Didn't know Hobby Boss made a 1/72 BF-109. Looks like much of it is already assembled.
