cmhjets
I've decided to amend an earlier post with this poll. What is your favorite Delta Livery? This is also a test to see if I'm using the poll feature correctly.
Chris Kethan
The only livery worth a $hit.... The "Widget" of course. The "Ron", "Beach towel", and the new unnamed POS shouldn't even be considered. Chris
Mercury
Widget still best; of the others, I sort-of like the "interim" one. At least it had a fuselage stripe...
Trojan Thunder
I vote for the Interim, though the widget was nice also.
PBoilermaker
The Widget, without hesitation. With all of these airlines going retro, it is a shame that Delta continues to step away from its own heritage. There was nothing wrong with the widget when they got rid of the scheme...it was one of the most recognizable liveries flying.

GEH737
I'm biased because I was hired under the "Widget" - but it's been my favorite - and I hate the new paint job. It was interesting flying the "Powder Puff" jet - at the time, Delta supposedly had an agreement with the Cartoon Network, to paint up a number of jets - but they failed to provided the promotional materials required - or something like that... I would have loved to have flown the "Scooby Doo" jet Hitch
David Hingtgen
Powerpuff. No "D". (They even have a commercial about how everybody mis-spells/mis-pronounces it) Edited January 18, 2008 by David Hingtgen
Jay Chladek
To me, Widget is still the tops. Wavy Gravy I like though as I enjoyed the coloring on the tail and the two color widget next to the name in classic font. Interim I was not crazy about. As for the next scheme, it looks too simple (oversized widget on tail reminds me of the TED treatment to the United logo) and having the delta widget JUST in red (or red with a shadow) is just silly. Plus, to me I get this subconscious idea that Delta is operating in the red (red as in red ink, i.e. in bankruptcy) from the widget logo. I really don't think that is a good message to be sending to their customers subconsciously.
vc-10
Widget's the best (of course!) but the new one comes in a close second, especially on a 757 with winglets...
SkywestCL65
The Widget will always be my favorite. It will always be "Delta Is Ready When You Are" to me. All of the airplanes looked great in that livery, particulary the L-1011. The Ron Allen livery was horrible. It made the elegant, sexy 727 look dreadful. The wavy gravy or beach towel took awhile for me to like, but I think it makes the 737-800, 757, 767, and 777 look pretty cool. The 727 looked awful with that scheme though. The new scheme I have only seen in person once on a 757 in SFO.
Drifterdon
The widget all the way! The stretch 8 in the widget livery was by far the best.... :o
Ben Brown
Definitely the Widget. I've seen the new tail livery referred to as the Circumcised Widget. Ben
Jennings
I guess I'm in a minority. I like the ancient widget scheme, but it does look dated. The 1998 ("interim") scheme is my favorite of all of them. It looked modern, fresh, but it still retained the Delta look. I even tried it out on an Il-86 and it looked good! If it can make that pudgy beast look good, it must be a good scheme. J
F106A
Brady, You couldn't have chosen a better example than the 880 to show the classic Delta look! Love it! Of course I hate you now because I'll have to build an 880 in those colors! Mark A shot with three versions... http://www.airliners.net/photo/Boeing-727-232-Adv/0240564/M/ Edit - Everyday since I originally posted this is says I just added something. I haven't! Strange! sky303
On behalf of almost any long-serving Deltoid (23 years), there is nothing better/classier than the Widget. The "Ronallen" really brings back some bad memories for alot of us (referred to as 7.5) The "Leo"was pointless. It took a powerful brand and made it virtually tasteless. Then that scumbag and his merry band gutter us. Our newest scheme, the "Citgo", is still not strong, bold and powerful. At least the old B767-232 "Spirit of Delta" preserved at the headquarters is in the Widget scheme. As it should be.
aaronacw
Blue Widget is the classic one. It also looks the best. All of the new widgets in red are ugly.I voted widget. Aaron Edited April 15, 2008 by aaronacw

dahut
Uh, I dont know a widget from a wavy gravy. What does this mean?
Jay Chladek
The "Deltawest" comment should be a clue. Apparently it has just been announced that Delta Airlines is merging with Northwest and the new airline will be called Delta. I kind of have mixed feelings about the whole thing, but it will be interesting to see what hybrid liveries come about from this.
GreyGhost
Yeah Jay, I always find it sad when we lose a longtime airline name and livery ... Gregg
Jennings
I seriously doubt any "official" hybrid livery will come out of this, but rather, all of NW's fleet will get the new (fugly) DL treatment (BO-ring). So here are a couple of NW aircraft in the new DL scheme. The final one is an idea for a slightly modified, and IMHO vastly improved version of the new DL livery that gives a tiny nod to the existence of NW. It ain't gonna happen, but it could be done with minimal repaints on existing DL airplanes.
