Swedish Mick
I think it's time to start showing some pictures taken during my build of this nice aircraft. Hopefully I will be able to finish this before closing date of the GB. I was lucky to win this Tupolev Tu-16K-10 Badger C in Breadboard's Great 2006 Holiday Give Away. It's the Trumpeter kit #1613 in 1/72. I started building this kit alongside many other builds.
Swedish Mick
This is a special pack kit, so photo etch parts are included in the kit. Normally, I don't use PE parts since I only build aircrafts in 1/72, but for this bird I really have to use them. Some of the parts sanded, washed ... ... and then painted. Swedish Mick
The wings are ready for sanding, but you can't get away without the use of some putty ... Engines looking like this without details and before sanding.
Swedish Mick
And then for inspiration, I had to make a dry fit. Our cat were neighter interested nor impressed. Edited January 23, 2008 by Swedish Mick
Swedish Mick
After reading the thread by Atlant, I had to take a closer look at my model, and of course, I did agree. So I used a couple of pieces of plasticard. After some putty and sanding, the result was not so bad.
Swedish Mick
According to the instructions, there were need for some weight (50 g) in the nose to avoid getting a tail-sitter.

Swedish Mick
Thank you! Yes, the Badger is a really nice one. I am a little soft about Russian (and Soviet) aircrafts. I think it's mostly because they generally have more interesting colours and camouflage than many other countries.

Swedish Mick
To show the size of this bird, here is the Bagder compared to Draken and Yak-9. Quite big ... until you compare to a B-52!
Sebastijan
you should have a Tu-160 for comparison
Swedish Mick
Sorry to say, I won't be able to finish this project within the time limit, so ... But it has been a really nice time building it, and a nice kit, too. Anyway, I hope to finish this Badger later on.
