I agree - that looks very interesting... I've always thought that the F-16 is a natural for a sharkmouth, but few units seem to take advantage. If the USAF - or even Lockheed Martin were to take the F-2 design, they'd probably modify it with a better radar, and possibly Block 60 electronics and systems and redesignate it as some F-16 variant. F-16J perhaps?

Although definitely a better engine to go with the extra airframe it has to lug around! Simply awesome man, great ideas!

Don't forget that there's already an F-2 listed in the DoD's post-1962 fighter series. I'd agree that this would be redesignated as some F-16 variant.

Roger that. I'm going to call her an F-16H.

Thanks!

Well, I'd think an USAF F-2/F-16G would have the latest AESA radar developed by Raytheon to fit into the F-16,F/A-18A-D and early Lot Super Hornets ...

There's a F-16G in the critiques section. Y'know, with a more powerful engine, the F-2 airframe could become a very competent carrier jet, just needs those fowler-flap-thingies and a wingfold. Although, finding space for a twinwheel nose LG would require one hell of adoor bulge or some very creative intake trunking.
