CraigSargent
Does anyone know if the AV-8B can carry Harpoons and GBU-10-12-16? Gorgeous builds of the aircraft and the base really sets it off. Work is very high standard given the pace at which it has progressed. To answer your question, Harrier is NOT cleared for Harpoon. Here is what it can carry MK-83 Single Dumb bombs (Laser Guided Variations Also) MK-82 Triple Cluster dumb bombs (Laser Guided Variations Also) MK-81 Multiple Cluster dumb bombs MK-20 Rockeye II Cluster bombs MK-77 Firebombs (Napalm) LAU-10 Rocket Pods LAU-61 Rocket Pods LAU-68 Rocket Pods AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles AGM-65 Maverick missiles GAU-12 25mm Cannon GBU-38 JDAM GBU-16 and GBU-12 yes, but NOT GBU-10. leverancier
I lack the most important skill a modelbuilder needs.... patience.... And that's why this dio is finished after just 2 months... lots of things could be better, but since I wanted to see the result as quick as possible, so I cut corners here and there. Is it good enough? I don't know... You be the judge: The only thing left to do is put some more bombs on the planes, and if someone brings out new deck crew in 1/48, put those in. Not easy to take pics.... If I find a better way, I'll post some new ones.

53 Marine
;) Simply amazing work, even more so that you completed it so fast. I would agree, this would be a best of show winner - great composition, engaging and well built. It does bring back some memories of my WestPac's (LOL - though in my day there was alot more green on the camoflage) You should submit that to Finescale Modeller. Bryan H.
WOW!!! ;) And now back to my knitting... But seriously, great work & great art! One small suggestion - if for whatever reason, you're are unable to keep this diorama (after it wins you loads of contests); maybe you could approach the nearest USMC base (active or reserve) or military/aviation-oriented museum and ask if they'd like this diorama as a donation. Your workmanship is astounding and I'd hate for it to be destroyed by little 2, 3 or 4-year-old fingers or maligned as a waste of space by an unappreciative significant other/SWMBO. LemonJello
This is, simply put, amazing. The level of detail and craftmanship you've put into this really blows my mind. I'm with several others here, I think I'll have to take up knitting or stamp collecting if this is the kind of work you produce in two months, and with only a couple years of experience in the hobby. Wow.
Maverick
man, that looks real! i would freak out if i saw that in a model show have you considered putting a pilot in one of the harriers or crew inside a helo? or maybe some FOD covers? or if you add another helo/harrier, open some panels for maintenance...maybe an AH-1W with the engine cowls open? man that looks so cool! and the possibilities are endless. you are very talented sir
