eastmanace
I'm making good progress on my first Hase F-14 (1/48). Even seem to be able to handle the infamous intakes with a little thought and dry fitting. What IS giving me some grief are the multipe breaks in the fuse and intake pieces that are occurring during construction. So far one tip on each intake has broken off in a flaking, jagged, tear-like break. Also had a small crack form on the nose section just behind the RIO's aft bulkhead. It seems that the plastic is quite brittle. Has anyone else had this problem? Cliff
Darren Roberts
I had this problem awhile back while trying to install the Aries wheel bay sets. Mine was so brittle that I literally broke the entire fuselage halves up into little teeny parts...with my hands! It simply snapped into tiny bits. The next one I worked on was not so bad. Daniel_B
And here's the thread about it (only bothering to reference it 'cause Oompa's got some good 411 on what might've happened): http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....howtopic=139484 :D Daniel
dagger00
I had that problem on the early boxings, Hasegawa F-14´s plastic has improved since there, now it isn´t so brittle...
dreammh
I had brittle plastic problems on several of my Hasegawa kits too. It seems that the newer tools have these problems. Some actually chip off simply after dropping onto the floor.
