Pierre's Swordfish - The Stringbag Diorama

Recommended Posts

Building of the diorama around my Swordfish. The aircraft building post is here.

I bought a standard frame, lowered the backside and added a new ply-wood floor.

Should look about that way.

The floor of the jetty is laid out.

There will be plenty of room for storage.

Thank you all for the kind words ;)

I made the water with Crystal Resin from Gedeo, a product made in France by Pebeo. As for the stones and gravel, it is train material: small gravel, a couple of stones and bush weed. I everything to the floor with brown tinted white glue. I added 3 drops of blue ink into the first layer of "water", just to give it a slight blue hint, and ended with a top layer of transparent resin. I like the way the water looks...

Hi folks, here is un update of the Stringbag diorama, one month after I moved to a new house.

The Swordfish did not like the move! It cashed, the float struts broke, and curiously there was a left-over of uncured resin that started smudging the surface of the water.

There was no easy way out...
