jack52
Hi Richard, for thinning xtracrylics i use the original thinner (30-40 %) from xtra, with best results. AeroSpecial, second item how to strip the paint, sorry i don't know. Hans Edited March 11, 2008 by jack52
MikeC
Second that: Hannants own thinner plus a drop or two of retarder.
f12aaa
They are very bad with water but awesome with their original thinner, I use one part of color and 1,5-2 parts of thinner.
Yuri
Hi guys, has anyone tested the paint over gunze colors? Gunze are the most easily available acrlylic paints here in Italy, but there's some problems when overcoating with other brands... I'm trying to find a good flat coat that will cover Gunze colors (don't like their flatcoat). Pollyscale is awesome, but unfortunately their flat seems can't be used over gunze (it cracks), so I'm wondering if the Xtracryl works...

I have been using PollyScale clear flat over Gunze for a couple of years with no problems so far. I do let the Gunze dry thoroughly - 3-4 days minimum - before aplying a Future gloss coat for decals, that is mostly because I work very slowly and a project may sit for a week or longer in after being painted before ai get around to gloss coating and decals. If you gloss coat the Gunze before doing the decals and afterwards apply a flat coat, it may be the gloss coat going on too soon that is casuing your cracking problem. And yes, I have used Xtracrlix before and after Gunze paints - just allow adequate drying times. Different acrylics paints dry at widely different rates.
