HistnScale
To me, one of the most interesting schemes applied to a C.205, Veltro 5-3 from the 3 Squadriglia, 1 Gruppo Caccia, ANR during the early summer of 1944. The kit is Hasegawa’s 1/48th ‘Macchi C.205 Veltro ANR’ release. Some extra detailing was added to the cockpit along with an Ultracast seat. Paint is Gunze Aqueous Hobby Color thinned with lacquer thinner and sprayed with an Iwata airbrush. The ‘5-3’ decal is from the kit sheet. The kit decals are very thin, the whites are good, but the blue in the 5 could be better. The rest of the markings come from various Sky and AeroMaster sheets. Weathering was done with artist's oils, inks, chalks and silver pencil. Overall, a relatively easy and fun build. Also, a special thanks to Mr. Ferdinando D’Amico for taking to time to answer a number of questions and provide valuable information. Photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 4500 set in aperture mode.
