madmike
Got the box out, checked the parts and just about ready to start. I love Matchbox 1:76 armour. simply kits they may be, but who can resist the bases in each kit? Diorama in a box! MikeJ Mike I edited this as your photo link was not quite right. Julien (UK)
Cool I just love these old armour kits, I did this one a while ago; Julien
ChernayaAkula
Very cool! I remember having built that armoured car a couple of years ago. :) Got blown off a shelf.
madmike
Update time. Here is the little PanzerSpaehwagen in the "buff" So far, a smooth assembly with parts needing minimal cleanup. Sehr Gut! MikeJ

madmike
Well the decals disintegrated as I expected, though I managed to get the vehicle number and the white balkenkreuz on. Microscale decal film helped but not enough to save the numberplates. Never mind, it will look good on the base. MikeJ
Mark M.
Pretty sweet to get a free display base! Is that common with vehicles? The few I've done never had any in 'em.
madmike
All the 1:76 Matchbox armour kits came with a dio base and a figure or two. Good value? Yep!!! MikeJ Edited April 16, 2008 by madmike
ChernayaAkula
When I built my version I used some clear plastic (some kind of packaging, I guess) to replicate shattered windows. Looked pretty cool! :D I used a scalpel to engrave some cracks and splinters. I picked up the Humber Mk.II (reboxed by RoG) a couple of days ago for the GB. Kinda doing the British "What's on?" counterpart to your German "Was ist los?".

madmike
This project is officially finished :o Figures painted and added to base along with the 6 rad. I will have some images posted up soon. MikeJ
madmike
OK, figures painted and the little vignette finished. Matchbox 1:76 kits are very basic but as per usual are solid builds. I am pleased with the way this kit turned out. Figures were painted with Vallejo paints. A fun build without having to be concerned with detail and too much accuracy. Cheers Mike
ChernayaAkula
Sehr gut! Nice build and a neat little dio! The figures look great. ;)
El pibe vitina
Very Nice! Despite the toylike of Matchbox kit, you finish it with a convincing touch. Congratulations.

madmike
It took 3 attempts to get that base right Damo. Turned out ok in the end, but less colourful than I planned for. :) MikeJ
Julien (UK)
Mike, that looks great. You do know that now this is finished you have to finiash an Aircraft! Julien
mlicari
I love those little Matchbox AFV kits with the diorama base right in the box. I bought a bunch way back in the early 80s when I went to Scotland for half a year as an exchange student in junior high. Looks good, Mike! Mike
