ADDModeler Posted August 10, 2012 Share Posted August 10, 2012 Sorry for the necropost, but I'm looking for more information/pictures on two jeeps. The first one is already pictured on the first page in this thread, the 'three wheeled' usmc jeep. I've only ever seen one other picture with it being used as an aircraft handling vehicle. The second jeep I'm looking for is a 'follow me' or other airfield radio vehicle where someone had put the clear nose glazing from a B-17 on the top of the roof as a viewing dome of some sort. I saw a single picture of one back in college and nothing since. I've just picked up the 1/48 Tamiya jeep (light vehicle) and have been wanting to build one or both of these for a long time. Thanks for the help you can give me Generally known as 'Strata Blue', the colour used was FS15045. Apparent variations were often the result of the environments in which the vehicles operated - they all started out shiny and fresh, but many ended up faded and matt... The difficult part will be in sourcing the multitude of titles, serial numbers & stencils for these vehicles; white or yellow on blue (or red) and black & red on yellow vehicles. But working on the 1/87 scale is a little easier since you can skip many of the letters. I use the 1/87 because for the means it is well supplied especially for more modern years.
