I just returned from a trip to Baton Rouge, and I have the recce report on local hobby shops: "There can be only one."

Actually, there is only one, if you don't count the Hobby Lobby shops.

The place is called Hobby Towne - NOT a HobbyTownUSA as it shows up on Google Maps.

It's at 8484 Airline Highway, on the west side of the highway, across from the Cortana Mall.

It's a mixed model, RR, and R/C shop, but had a surprisingly good selection of models, including lots of old rarities.

I give it a definite thumbs up, and recommend it to all ARCers passing through.

I second that. I just moved to Baton Rouge from Irving, TX, and I have to say that I really, really like Hobby Towne alot. Very clean store, and a TON of new and old kits. There are very few kits I've seen online that Hobby Towne doesn't have.
