Tomcat RIO
started on this kit. when i bought it was second hand, but the box was the original i think. nose for the f111b was missing so i decided to scratchbuild it. Edited October 26, 2008 by Tomcat RIO
Colin W
The navy plane looks great on the Box lid. Definitely the way to go.
Aggressor Supporter
Nice box art. Looks to be an old kit.
Eric2020
Looking on the boxart is has to be the American version of the TFX. I have the original box and that is oilpainting by looking at it. I have the F-111B on the line and went for Italeri's A model as that must be as close as I could get in the period. I copied the nose of this model, if anyone is interested PM me and we work something out.
Tomcat RIO
more updates after along while! lots of tamiya putty to fill cracks and gaps. this is a 1960's kit, so the fit is so horrible that even seasoned modellers will be in shock. i decided to close up the wheels, because the landing gear provided is fiddly, and it totally lacks details
Tomcat RIO
not much of an update, but i've glued the 2 fuse halves together and given it a preshade
Tomcat RIO
the nose was epoxy puttied up and sanded down.(still sanding) as were the gaps and uneven areas of the cockpit joint
Andrew Doppel
Isn't this the kit that was released that had the removable capsule? Was it that poorly fitting that you had to glue and putty it on? You've certainly done a good job getting it to look like a B given you had to make up the nose. Keep up the good work! Regards Andrew
