Marcel111
The dark grey on this Gorillas Eagle looks unusually dark... I'm wondering if anyone has any more information on it i.e. what exact color it is? Thx, Marcel http://www.33fw.acc.af.mil/shared/media/ph...F-3408B-017.jpg
Marcel111
mmmmnnn, still seems darker to me, like gunship grey (f-15e)...
MiG31
It doesn't really look any darker than this jet. I think it's a matter of looking at it with a bright background.
ikar
Lighting makes a lot of difference with that kind of paint. During our acceptance ceremony of the F-15 I took pictures of our first ship in the hanger with and without a flash. The colors were very different for the same aircraft and somewhat different when it was outside in normal light.
Marcel111
Ok, I'm convinced... pity, I was looking forward to doing a slightly out of the ordinary F-15C :-)

Don Harrison
Take a look here. Eglin Gorillas This is the one I did, Used Model Master Mod Eagle Grey (FS36176 I think)
kellyF15
I have only been on E Models, but I do know that some C-Model squadrons do have darker mod color. Eglin Langley and I think Kadena have it, I know Elmendorf and Mountain Home have the lighter one, because I have been stationed at both. Dont know about Tyndall or Lakenheath or any guard squadrons. jefropas
The blazing Florida sun and Gulf of Mexico salty air beats the paint on anything based in the Sunshine State, airplanes, cars, etc. Taking pics there for years, I've noticed they always seem to fade quicker than up north here. Maybe one batch of MILSPEC paint faded quicker than the other, and the intense lighting of the photo just highlighted it. Just my .02, HTH. Jeff
