Hawaii Air National Guard F-15A Model from Hasegawa

This has got to be the first time I've ever seen a model with Hawaii ANG markings! Has markings for other guard units too, but the box photo is of a Hawaii jet. Perhaps this one was before my time since I don't seem to recall the Hawaii F-15s having these yellow and red accents on the tail and nose of the aircraft.

I'm still trying to figure out what kind of font is used to make the Hawaii logo and the pilots'(and their crew chiefs') names so I can effectively copy those markings and apply the logo in different sizes on my own custom decal sheets.(hoping to make a hawaii F-15 egg plane in the future.)

Hi,

U should find your answer here : http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10070168t2/60/2

There are 3 versions : HAWAII ANG + MISSOURI ANG + GEORGIA ANG

I don't remember a decal sheet of the HANG anywhere else.

I'm not sure if you are being specific about F-15s or Hawaii ANG, but the Hasegawa F-4C/D Phantom II Egypt I edition has markings for 199th TFS 154th CG Hawaii ANG. Don M.

The 1:48 Italeri F-15A/C included markings for a HI ANG and the same GA ANG jet (74-116) as this Hasegawa release. But Italeri got the GA markings wrong on one side; the type doesn't lean back "with with wind" it leans forward against it.

It's not a jet but Pro-Modeler when they did 'aftermarket' decals for thier kits had HANG P-47N markings also. Don't know if any you'd find would still be useable as alot of my PM kit decals have deteriorated over the last 10 years

Repli-Scale had a sheet with Hawaii and Georgia F-15A's(and a USAF one) on it years ago,in 1/72 and 1/48 IIRC.

This sheet also had some very cool 5th, and 318th FIS markings. Didn't someone (Repliscale maybe) do Missouri ANG markings like those in the newly re-issued 48th Hasegawa kit, in 72nd scale? I'd be interested in the Mo. markings if anyone has some to spare. Thanks, Fred K.

Not bad...I like those warrior stripes on the tail. Not as cool as the VC-1 Blue Alii markings...but still cool

That was the old Primo beer trademark.

I always liked it too, though, Primo was some pretty foul swill back in the day. I understand it's been revived. I hope they improved it!

Doesnt the RoG F-4C/D boxing that was just released have Hawaii markings also?

Yes it does!

My question is was there/is there a decal sheet for HANG F-102's? They were the last unit (Active/AFRES/ANG) to fly them. 1977 if I remember correctly.

I'll have to dig up my old pics from my laptop.

Mark,

If I recall correctly, Fox One Decals did the HANG F-102 in one of their now OOP F-102 sheets.
