Hi All

Well its taken some time but here are the completed pics for the BAC -111K. based on the 1/48 Accademy kit.

Mods to the kit are listed in the build article but basically cover the following listed from the front working back.

Brass nose probe.

Scribed refuelling probe panel

Doppler panel on lower nose

Detailed nose under carrige bay

Revised instrument panel and detailing to the cockpit.

Tornado fit aerials on upper front fuselage.

Revised square intakes

Boz and decoy pods under outer wing pylons

Widened main gear tyres with flat bases.

Fin top RWR reciever

Serials put under tail planes ala tornado

detailed jet exhausts.

Wrap around DSG and Green based on promotional pics from the 1960's brochure.

Markings for 617 squadron.

Here's my just completed 1 Squadron RAAF F111C in markings for Red Flag 2007. Cockpit, RBF tags and Pave Tack by Verlinden, wings, wheels and exhausts from Scaledown. Everything else not from the kit has been scratch built such as intake bungs, flare/chaff dispenser and front U/C well. I hope you like it!

woohoo done at last!

here's a what might have been, if the f-111b programme had not been cut. and the TFX replaced the navy phantoms.. and no tomcats(i shudder to think)

from the revell kit, a monster of sanding. and decals from a spare hasegawa tomcat.

Well the GB is over and I'm proud that I could could contribute in some way. The builds posted whether finished or unfinished is a true tribute to a wonderful aircraft. I certainly hope that those that had started builds complete them and eventually post their results here. Well done to everyone and thanks Steve for moderating it.
