The fiberglass replica on display at the main gate of Dyess AFB, TX painted to represent the aircraft of LtCol William E. Dyess. They had to take the display down a couple years ago, and according to the story I heard the wind was tearing it up based on the angle they mounted it. Apparently it wanted to fly! The word is they put some reinforcement of some type in it, then remounted it.

The main gate is to the right of the photo, on the same side of the fence as the display. The display is "pointed" at the gate.

Some shots of the P-40N (RAAF scheme) and P-40E (Chinese) From last weekends Wings over Wairarapa show. The colours on the N are it's authentic wartime scheme, but the E is actually ex RNZAF. Also noted in hindsight in the take-off pics that each one is retracting a different undercarriage leg first. I'm not sure if they go up in a planned sequence or not, or if each aircraft is just rigged differently.
